Acid Reflux Foods

Posted on February 25, 2010.
Acid Reflux FoodsWhat foods are okay to eat if you have acid reflux?

I think I have acid reflux British Columbia after I eat fatty and greasy food it feels like my throat is burning and I always wake Inthe Middle of the night with a burning chest and stomach. Is this really the acid reflux? what food is acceptable to eat?

If you think you have Acid Reflux please see DR. that this situation is a danger,
Under normal conditions, when you eat and drink, the muscle at the bottom of your esophagus closes off so food and liquids will remain in your stomach. This muscle is the lower esophageal sphincter (LES).

However, GERD occurs mainly because of three reasons: the normal defenses of the esophagus is overwhelmed by the acid content of the stomach contents of the stomach is too acid, or food is not removed from the esophagus fast enough.

When "reflux" stomach acid touches the lining of esophagus, it causes a burning sensation in the chest or throat called heartburn. The fluid may even reach the bottom of the mouth, and this is called acid indigestion. Occasional heartburn is common but does not necessarily mean one has GERD. Heartburn that occurs more than twice a week may be considered GERD, and may eventually lead to more serious problems to health.

Other symptoms may include:

Chest pain
Hoarseness in the morning
Difficulty swallowing
May feel like food is stuck in the throat
On the choking sensation
Persistent dry cough
Halitosis

If you have been diagnosed with acid reflux disease (GERD), you'll want to learn to control symptoms. The acid reflux disease will still be there, but you can reduce and in many cases to prevent symptoms.
The following tips can help you live with your acid reflux disease.

Eat six small meals instead of 3 large meals.
This allows your stomach becoming too full. This will also reduce gastric pressure. Another tip is to eat slowly.

Do not eat or drink for at least 2 hours before going to bed.
If you take naps, try sleeping in a chair. Coated with a full stomach can cause stomach contents to press harder against the lower sphincter muscle, which increases the chances of food reflux.

Avoid foods that are known to trigger heartburn.
There are several foods and beverages that can trigger heartburn, or by increasing the production of stomach acid and pressure or by loosening the lower sphincter muscle.

Grapefruit, CHERRY PEPPERS, mustard, OJ, beans, chili, coffee,

I mean I have something similar, WLL not really, but I take Prilosec OTC and it works GRETA, I just stay away from those foods u talk and try to eat more healthily
