What causes painful back spasms during pregnancy? I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and I had painful back spasms in my lower back. They come randomly, but sometimes if I'm angry or scared, they are equally clear. I just want to know what causes this type of painful spasms and if it's something to be worried.
Many things cause back spasms, and most of them are harmless!
Usually the combination of hormonal changes to your ligaments more lax, your abdominal muscles further apart and become smaller - which means there is less support for your lower back, causing spasms.
Yoga and posture will do wonders:)
... Other times, the pain is caused by the baby's spine resting against the spine * *. It hurts, and his "work back"
... Do not forget the possibility that your baby is positioned so that it puts pressure on your sciatic nerve - This means that the sciatica, and it sucks, too! Usually the pain is joined by pains in the back of the leg, too.
If you do not have abnormal discharge, blood, things like that - I'd say you're in the safety zone.
Doctors say that regular doses of Tylenol is OK for a few days, many also recommend Arnica Gel as a homeopathic remedy very safe.
There is a ligament that connects the uterus to the spine and toward the end of pregnancy, your back will start to kill you.
Go to any maternity or maternity store and ask for a belly sling. There is a wide piece of elastic that you wear around your back and under your belly to help take the baby's weight off your back. You can wear under your clothes and it will make a huge difference I assure you wear it outside the store.
They are cheap and a good maternity store will allow you to first try to find one that suits you best.
There are a series of ligaments that attach the uterus to the spine. In addition, the hip (pelvis) moves to support the extra weight of your baby by pulling on the front of you. During the pregnancy of my wife, she saw a chiropractor twice a week and the occasional massage therapist. Another thing to check is to ensure that you are getting the right nutrients such as your B vitamins and potassium. A deficiency in these nutrients can cause muscle spasms and cramps. Make sure you talk to your doctor before changing your diet or take any suppliments.
Maybe your baby pinching a nerve. Maybe.
it could be Braxton Hicks contractions (practice contractions that your body does)
