Cancer Sores On TongueCauses, symptoms and effects of treatments for head and neck

Head & Neck Cancer: head and neck occurs because of the spread of cancer cells in the head and neck. Usually, cells grow and divide into multiple cells and they die when they get older, and new cells take their place. But due to some causes of these life cycle of basic cell damages are awarded and began to grow quickly without control limit. These cells form a huge mass of tissue called a tumor.

Tumors are of two types are:
aec Tumor: The tumors are not life-threatening tumors. This cancer can be easily removed by surgery. They do not recur. These tumors develop in the same site. They do not spread and invade other tissues that surround them. The benign tumor cells do not contain metastatic characteristics (such as to spread to other parts of the body)
aec Malignant tumors: These tumors are cancerous tumors. They spread to other parts of the body. These tumors can be removed, but sometimes they grow back. Malignant tumors invade surrounding tissues and organs. These metastatic tumors contain characters.
When cancer cells spread to other parts form a new tumor has the same characteristics of the primary tumor. For example, if the head and neck cancer cells spread to the lungs, the cancer cells in the lungs are actually belonging to the head and neck cancer cells. Then, this disease is called metastatic head and neck.

Head and cancer affects the following types:

the oral cavity: the mouth contains many areas like the lips, tongue, tonsils, lining of the cheek, salivary glands, hard palate (roof of mouth), the soft palate (back of the mouth) and the floor of the mouth, gums and teeth.

Salivary glands: The glands are useful in the production of fluids (saliva) in the throat and mouth moist. These glands are located in the jaw and the floor of the month.

paranasal sinuses and nasal cavity and sinuses are small cavities in the bones surrounding the head of the nose and nasal cavity is located in the hollow space inside the nose.

Larynx: It is also called the voicebox. It is located just below the neck. Larynx contains the vocal cords. It is a small fabric called epiglottis in the larynx which helps prevent the entry of food from entering the air passage.

The lymph nodes in the upper neck squamous cancer cells are present in the lower neck. These cancer cells contain metastatic characteristics.

Pharynx: it is a hollow tube located behind the nose and leads to the esophagus. Pharynx consists of three parts.

  • Hypopharynx: This is the lower pharynx.
  • Neasophayrnx: It is located in the upper pharynx.
  • Oropharynx: Oropharynx is the middle part of the pharynx. It is the base portion of the tonsils and tongue.

aerodigestive tract cancers Causes: The main causes of breast cancer are not identified, but risk factors for breast cancer are identified and are listed below.

Risk factors for breast cancer:

These are the two main risk factors to cause cancers of the aerodigestive tract.

Chewing tobacco: chewing tobacco increases the risk factor to cause cancers of the aerodigestive tract. This activity has more side effects. Tobacco plays a key role in many diseases related to cancer. Smoking also causes the head and neck. In which 87 percent of cases are related to death.
