Cat Arthritis? Has anyone had a cat with arthritis? We have a young cat (9) who has bad arthritis in her hind legs and hip. She refuses to walk on one side, and now his knee on the healthy leg handed. we get a knee operation on Monday, but the vet said there was nothing he could do about arthritis. Is this true - nothing to do for his arthritis?
DO NOT GIVE TO CATS aspirin ... They KILL
You can try to put some Gelitin Knox in his diet. It takes time to work, but it helps to support the connective tissue.
This helped my 19 year old cat with its mobility very fast ...
I know it helped me with my hands.
also the cat needs to move this keeps the joints working
I am afraid your vet is right not much you can do for her, but make him comfortable.
Knox try and see if it works.
success
We had a dog with arthritis and the vet had us give him half an aspirin or Tylenol it was, every day. I do not see why the vet could not give you a sort of anti-inflametory (sp?), Like aspirin, for the cat.
Have you talked with the vet performing the surgery on his right leg the way they think it will recover if it can not support the other side?
