Causes of low iron? which can cause iron deficiency and folate other than the scheme?
My tests came back with iron and folate very low, even if my diet hasn't changed (if anything I've been eating better in the last month), although a few months ago my tests were normal and there year, also normal. Dr. says she is surprised how little they are, I've started taking supplements, but the impression that I eat like it is ok?
Can they get that low in that short period of time?
Have you heard of Iron Overload? Most conventional doctors do not check for it (there is a particular equation to understand it) or know much. The results of your test may come back with an iron deficiency ... even if you have too much iron in your body. I just learned about it. Your body stores iron and these stores do not show up in tests. Very often, when people have tests that show a lack of iron, they are treated with more iron. When really they could have too much and need to get rid of some. Do not say this is what happens here ... but I search on the Internet. It could cause very serious illnesses. Check www.ironoverload.org
Folic acid is green leafy vegetables, iron in the blood comes from meat or preferably liver
why you are low? not enough information. might be pregnant (assuming you're a girl, that is), and poor diet, or excessive menstrual bleeding, or parasites, or infection (not many people react with anemia, even for a simple cold)
You feel OK just because your body has adapted to low levels (BTW, you do not say how low if 10 g of HBG or 3)
sometimes the quantity of food is not bad, but the combinations are iron absorption such bad food containing milk combined with (alkaline) means poor absorption.
What can I say? consult a doctor.
u are anemic? Heavy periods? dark circles under the eyes??
eat more vegetables, lentils, nuts, seeds, fish and a multivitamin and water charges
Have you bought in the diet craze of red meat? Have you cut chocolate completely out of your meal plan? Have you cut the fat from your meal plan?
These three points are more important than most dietitians will let you know. Red meat contains iron, which is hemi iron most easily absorbed into existence. Chocolate is loaded with iron. fats and helps promote the absorption of iron. No amount of suppliments will help until you eat a sufficient quantity of natural resources (saturated) fats.
Eat all that advice on the food pyramid, except the lower floor! It is totally unnecessary and causes weight gain.
Contrary to popular belief, red meat is not the only source of iron. I do not eat red meat at all and do not take supplements and I had my iron levels back to normal in severe anemia a few years ago. I was so bad that I had pica (paper-eating) and bands of smaller and smaller in my throat too. The most important thing to remember about iron is that you need Vitamin C when you eat food rich in iron for maximum absorption - the orange juice can be your best friend here.
Some of the things I eat every day for iron and the percentage of daily value they contain per serving:
Grahm Crackers Chocolate - 15%
Pumpkin Seeds - 15%
Vanilla Almond Crunch Special K - 45%
Silk Vanilla Fortified for children - 6% (to 35% of vitamin C)
All enriched pasta - 10% or more
Dried apricots - 10% (also 35% vitamin C)
Healthy Choice Country Vegetable (10%)
What you drink with your meal is also very important - as I said, include a source of vitamin C as the juice or a piece of fruit. Also, do not drink coffee, cola (caffeine free sodas like Sprite or 7 up is OK) or tea for an hour before and after meals because the tannins and caffeine significantly block the absorption of iron. You may need supplements for a few weeks until your blood return to normal, but after that if you continue to rely o.
