Chemotherapy can lead to dogs with blood in the stool? My dog is currently undergoing chemotherapy for angiosarcoma, a very aggressive cancer. It was great and she had her fourth chemo session four days ago. Tonight I noticed bright red blood in his stool. She is also feeling and doing good. Is this just a side effect of chemotherapy.
Thank you
This page talks about damage to the intestinal mucosa, as a side effect of chemotherapy, but did not explicitly say the bleeding. " http://www.oncolink.com/types/article.cf ...
You can get slippery elm bark in any store herbs, soothe and heal the intestinal lining.
I would certainly ask the vet about the bleeding.
Whether it be a side effect or not, I would call the vet.
Call the vet, chemotherapy is very serious, I wouldnt expect anyone here to answer that for you.
Blood in the stool is not normal chemo side effects.
Definitely call your vet. It may be something simple, like an anal gland infection, but it could be something more, especially depending on where the tumor is.
I hope it is nothing and that your daughter is well.
