I just want to hear from someone else who has this disorder. Have you had to undergo surgery? what medicine did they give you? How did it affect you?, Etc..
Please let me know. im 22 years old, I have two children and I am very afraid!
What is Crohn's disease?
Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease of the intestine. It primarily causes ulcerations (breaks in the lining) of small and large intestine but can affect the digestive system anywhere from the mouth to the anus. It is named after the doctor who described the disease in 1932. It is also called granulomatous enteritis or colitis, regional enteritis, ileitis, or terminal ileitis

Hello, I'm 17 and I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when I was 14. There are a wide range of symptoms that can let you know that you have Crohn's, I did not have many symptoms other than I have been more and more and I had blood tests incorrect. "I get blood tests every two months and the doctor looks primarily for the sedimentary rate, its an indicator that lets you know if there is any inflammation in your body. I take a drug called Pentasa (also known as mesalmine) and 6-MP (mercatopourine) These drugs are effective for most people, but have not really worked for me, a normal rate of sedimentary 0 10 is constantly while my 40-60. most drugs do not affect you that much, you can take a drug called Remicade, which is similar to 6-MP. These drugs are immuno-suppressents which means they suppress the immune system to help you feel better. some side effects that I feel is fatigue and joint pain. I hope I answered all your questions, Crohn's is very treatable, good luck!
