Deramaxx Side Effects

I have heard so much about possible liver, kidney, or other damage, and my vet does recognize that there are risks, but still wants me to give this medication to my dogs, a mixed breed and a laboratory. They have intense pain and reduced mobility because of arthritis, but I wonder if the drug will do more harm than good? So far, the mix seems better, the laboratory is essentially the same, but I always feel weird giving the medication. What experience have other dog owners had with her? Something good? Thank you.

You are right to be worried about side effects. I had one of my on Deramaxx for 7 months. She has loose stools, but was other wise.

Our 9 1 / 2 years Shepherd takes Deramaxx, but not every day and we also use small dose of that same work. It seems to be much safer than Rimadyl. You can also put the dogs on Max mixed Adequan shots and could also be useful. We also have a memory foam mattress for our dog who has contributed significantly to his back. He had no bad side effects of Deramaxx. Good luck.

I think if your veterinarian is comfortable giving this to your dog, you can try to trust them. There are side effects to all drugs and even "natural" remedies. It depends on the dog. Most of these drugs give older animals with a much better quality of life. But remember that there are other things to do, like trying to follow the light exercise, muscle tone to keep dogs well, do not allow them to be overweight, and discuss the use of nutritional supplements with your veterinarian.
