What is the result safe when yo utest your bood for diabetes / glucose? I think I have diabetes and I have the blood tester thing at home. I had the result of 65 years, is this normal or what?
No, it's too low. The result would be safe around 110
I try to keep my blood sugar between 100 and 120. I always say 70-120 is normal, but the American Diabetes Association recommends 90-130 for adults. If you are concerned about diabetes, see your doctor and ask them about your departure. An A1C test is a better indicator because it can tell how much your blood glucose has been for some months and not a single frame of a meter gives you. Just because your meter indicates 65 this does not mean you are not diabetic. Your blood glucose is not too low either. My mother and my aunt levels drop rapidly and they pass. It is important to eat small meals 4-5 times per day to maintain your blood sugar stable. First, go get a medical exam, then you will know if your meter is accurate.
Maybe a little low but you must make sure that you have allowed everything and do nothing to spoil the test results. Did you calibrate the machine (if needed)? Do you have the code with the bands? There are so many things you should check to ensure that results are accurate. If you are unsure, go to the doctor and ask them to show you how to obtain and verify by a professional. Home testing does not prove a thing if you can not do.
My first thoughts are why are you test and tells you to do as well as which meter do you use?
Regarding your results: Does the meter require calibration between tests? Did you calibrate? Have you read the test instructions? Did you wash and dry your hands (or the test area)?
If the answer is yes to all questions immediately above the blood glucose is a bit weak, but nothing to worry about. More importantly, if you "think you have diabetes, you should visit your doctor for confirmation. There are a number of tests that the doctor will do well as a comprehensive review and history.
I am diabetic and have been told by my doctor that normal is 80-115, as yours may be a bit low. The best thing is to see a doctor and ask them to check your blood sugar.
rread directions,,,, usually about 70-100
To be precise when testing the first time you need to test after the fast is what usually determines whether further tests should be done. 70-99 is considered normal and 100-125 is a level where you have to be careful and make sure it could be that it leads to diabetes. 126 and tested more than once widely regarded as diabetes and other tests that must be done to tell you if it is type 1 or type 2. If you use less than 70 years when the fast, I would still check with your doctor what could be a sign of where you hyopglycemia suagrs low and must be monitored and a diet low in sugar is also recommended. Good luck to you
Piper is one of the best points here. However, the ADA recommendation has already been diagnosed in patients with diabetes. bloodsugar Normal for a non-diabetic patients is generally between 70-120, but it can go as high as 150 after meals, and even range in the 60s and well. you sound fine, but if you're really concerned about being diabetic ... go to the Dr. and implemented controls. its not much and does not work for long.
