Dust Mites

Dust MitesMites?

Is Lysol spray to kill mites? I sprayed my filter cartridge dry. I cleaned the dust filter and 30 minutes later I received a ton of "Mosquito", as bites. So I sprayed Lysol. What do you think? Help ...

do not know if they kill dust mites, dust mites, but do not bite. people are allergic to dust mite particles and dead mites droppings when inhalled. In addition, if there were mites in the dryer, running the dryer must have killed. I am severely allergic to dust mites and all bedding should be washed with hot water and dried in the dryer.

Check for health benifets www.thebedmed.com and dust mite free trial. Report Abuse

Your bites you speak could be the cause of "bug bites" not mites. Bed bugs, we could see little black spots visible on your bed, and they bite humans do at night. You should clean your bed, clean sheets have them if you have any bugs around. Report Abuse

Also, I suggest you make an air purifier for dust mites as well. Everyone has virtually dust mites. Report Abuse

I'm not really a fan of sprays like that, if you're referring to the aerosol: After all, there would be no way for me to avoid breathing myself.

However, there are mites or small insects such as midge that bites, and it may be that you wandered near a nest of them in some way.

You may want to come back with a rag and a bucket of Lysol a strong solution and clean around your dryer. And check the pipe leading to the dryer, if it is not as well sealed as it should. And make sure you do not have any standing water around your place.

Good luck!

Ricky, spraying something like this in the dryer is dangerous. Residues can ignite dry during the next use. The mites do not bite. Their feces and shells contain a protein that, when inhaled, causes the production of IgE by the human immune system (so that you and I ask for allergies). As that bit you, it could be fleas, gnats, or even those little buggers that we call the midges here. If you want to get rid of mites in the wash, try De-Mite. I used it for years and it's wonderful. The bottle will tell you to use more than necessary, so if you try it. Go easy with it. It is a great place for it

Instead of washing water in 140 degree, I use De-Mite and cold water. Getting rid of dust mites and is much easier on my sheets.

No, Lysol does not kill mites.

Most people are actually allergic to the proteins contained in the waste rather than mites mites themselves. You can buy laundry products and cleaning that kill and dissolve their associated proteins from a place like the National Allergy Supply, located here: http://www.natlallergy.com/default.asp? e ... I use this product and it works very well: http://www.natlallergy.com/prod/1653/ant ... You can also avoid using dryer sheets in.
