My Doberman has a cut ear Droopy. Does anyone know about the ear implants? How effective are they? My Dobie is 10 months. His right ear is perfectly while the left ear hangs a few hours after the post is deleted. A vet told me not to give up yet, it should be kept until it is announced. Another said that at this point, the cartilage does not change much so I can either give up and drop or have an implant in that ear. I do not plan to show him, but also wants to keep both ears properly. It is a beautiful dog!
Keep posting, but be diligent, almost 10 months is the point of no change. Do not give up, I had a dog, I was ready to give up to 11 months. old, but I posted again anyway, two weeks later, guess what, they stood perfectly and have been up since. How should you fall ill and how long does it take after you delete the post. Be sure to do little things that get his attention and he made his ears perk too.
What the hell does it matter if he has an ear Droopy? You probably too imperfections, but your parents didn't rush to surgery for please now have they???
My GSD had drooping ears until he reaches the age of 12 months. I have nothing to everything, and they stood on their own. Flopppy ears can be inherited, so that the coach was probably one of the parents too thirsty, so you fooled.
I would follow what the vet says.
We had a Doberman when I was younger with the same problem, an ear would simply not right. My mother had already gone at least 5 times. All this does cause pain and irritation of dog but he did finally stand. In all honesty, a drooping ear can be cute if it adds character just leave the poor dog alone.
Dobies are even more beautiful with their natural ears floppy:)
However, if you insist on cosmetically change the appearance of your dog, just like any other surgical procedure there can be complications. So he can hear, I do not see the point of putting him through another surgery unnecessary.
I want to keep posting too. I heard about the take up to a year to get them to. I heard implants, but do not know the cost, pain involved, or what equipment is used. If you do choose this route, make sure they did before the surgery successfully.
what?? ear implants?? ru kidding?? let the dog ba dog. have a natural ear and ear drooping isn't going to make a difference in the dog is just what you think u should its visual b. roughly, thats plastic surgery for dogs. ear implants for animals, for no reason. thats ridiculous.
I bet it is beautiful with or without the amount ear.
I had a butterfly that had ears REALLY tough ... I've recorded, but it would simply not tolerate it.
My vet told me that they can rise and fall up to 12 months of age ... if it's important to you - I keep the post in.
I also heard that farmers Butterfly cottage cheese works well because the calcium helps the cartilage - I do not know the validity of this property.
My butterfly has proven to be a moth ... Tho is the rare variety, this is not what I wanted. Now that I have accepted it, but - I can not imagine any other way ... :) It is absolutely beautiful
Good luck ... I would not worry too dishonest to his ear - as I said ... you could get used to and I love her more for it: D
If you do not intend to show him, then who cares? I had a dog that has ears move independently of each other. It would be up while the other was arrested more. He had heard a noise and the flop and the other one goes out. It was such a part of his personality, character and charm. I always say "it is only half listening." I guess I did not.
