Allergy is widespread among both adults and babies today. You'd be alarmed to hear that the total population suffers from allergies, 6% of children is, especially infants. You never know when an allergy comes. Well ... how allergies? Once the immune system begins to respond differently to food you take in general, this means you are allergic to this type of food.

When I say babies are prone to food allergies, I am sure many parents will wonder how and why? Am I not true to say that for each parent and their children is their world? You give them all the basic necessities like food, clothing and shelter and, above all, good care. It is essential that you be aware of foods that your child is allergic to that sometimes it can even cause death.

You get a lot of food like pizza, hamburger, cheese, milk, pasta, fish, etc., and your child may be allergic to one or more of these foods. It is the duty of every parent to take care of the health of their child and that too when allergies are more frequent. Necessary measures must be taken to ensure that the child faces no discomfort due to allergies. You must be extremely careful if you're introducing solid foods to your baby.

Let's see how an allergy occurs because this will help you understand how to prevent and manage food allergies. When the child eats a food that is allergic to it, IgE (antibody) will be produced by the body. The next time when the same food is eaten by your child, inform the IgE immune system to produce histamines. Histamines are produced to fight against allergens. In general, allergens are harmless, but the immune system that mistakes of this harmful to the child and will start to attack. For this reason, a child can get signs and symptoms of allergy. These symptoms can occur within minutes or two hours depending on the response of the immune system.

Allergy symptoms can be divided into two categories, namely, light and serious. Mild symptoms include:

a) Swelling of the skin, or body parts such as ears, mouth, tongue, etc.
b) skin rashes that are itchy.
c) Discomfort in breathing
d) Vomiting
e) diarrhea

In some cases, the allergy is hereditary. Say, for example, one member of your family is allergic to milk, there are opportunities for your child to inherit the condition. Some children do not show signs of allergy when they begin to eat these foods, but in the longer term may develop signs and symptoms of allergies. Few products can cause food allergies are:

a) eggs
b) Milk
c) fish
d) Peanuts
e) nuts

It is advisable to call the local emergency number immediately after your child shows signs or symptoms of allergies. Why should you do that? This is because some allergies can even cause death. It is always good if you can detect the allergy at an earlier stage itself. If you contact your pediatrician, he / she will be able to prepare and give you a plan of action to prevent the allergy.

Do not take allergy as a single disease. Please give adequate attention to whether your child is allergic to a food. This will save the life of your precious and priceless gift, that is, your baby.
