Gerd Surgery

Posted on February 12, 2010.
Gerd SurgerySurgery GERD?

I was wondering if I could get testimonials from people who have undergone surgery for Acid Reflux / GERD? This may be the fundoplication surgery and less invasive laparoscopic surgery. I'm considering surgery to improve my GERD, as I have suffered for over 10 years in this condition.

Thank you!

My grandmother had laparoscopic surgery for hiatal hernia and straighten the esophagus. She had a lot of pain in the chest for a while but she is doing much better. It was about two months after surgery. It has recently been able to start eating more solid foods. As a result of having to be especially on a liquid diet, she lost 30 pounds, she is thrilled. She no longer has to take medication. I would certainly try. I know she also suffered for a long time.
