Is there assistance available in FL for an adult who is still work that needs a hearing aid? I heard that my father who is 67 and is still working can help to get a hearing aid. People hearing, he made a appt with him said that. Does anyone have info on this?
There are organizations that provide refurbished hearing aids to patients who are eligible for assistance. I am here in California and may be different in Florida, but I am almost certain that there are programs everywhere for these situations. The problem is - these patients must demonstrate that they desperately need this assistance, in terms of hearing loss at a time and financial stability.
Another option is financing. This is particularly useful for patients who continue to work and not the full amount for hearing aids when they need it. Your father's hearing health provider may have that opportunity. Some companies offer a financing option that is like a credit card, but can not be used for medical purposes. Some plans offer 0% interest, and can reduce monthly payments significantly.
The best place to ask about this is the office of your father is visiting.
Vocational Rehabilitation, perhaps? Our local RV bought my last hearing aid so I can hear better for my work. I do not know how to LF. VR works, but you can check.
