Heart Angina

Posted on February 24, 2010.
Heart AnginaIs there a link between heart disease (angina pectoris and / or atrial fibrillation) and the following substances?

Frontline Plus (fight against fleas for dogs and cats)
Xylitol (artificial sweetener in some chewing gums)

A friend of mine recently had an attack of angina, and coincidentally, they had been in contact with skin FrontLine Plus once before and this time, and also had chewed xylitol containing chewing gum.

I was wondering if these are known to aggravate existing heart problems, or interact with any heart or blood pressure medications cons?

Frontline Plus has two main chemical ingredients:

Fipronil, a broad-spectrum insecticide (broad spectrum which means it can kill any insect it comes into contact with, not just leaking). It works by binding to GluCl channels (glutamate - chloride channels) in the muscles and nerves - are not mammals GluCl channels, which explains why it is safe for use on mammalian pets.

Methoprene is the second chemical. It is not toxic to humans, and is still used in some water to control mosquito populations. It is also used to protect other foods, like cooked meat, mushrooms, cereals, etc.

Thus, Frontline Plus does not work at all in the human body.

Xylitol is another compound commonly used in tons of things. It has been shown to have a number of positive effects in the human body actually improve the oral health (it's slightly antibacterial and can help prevent tooth decay and oral yeast infections) , improve diabetes and respiratory infections. He has no known toxicity in humans.

Thus, xylitol is only beneficial actions: P

Hope this helps.
