Herpetiform

So my friend just finished eating his meal and feel a small bump on the top of his mouth. As it files its range extends the hump the size of a pill. She began to scratch and the blood spurted from it. it kept doing this until the bump stops growing at last. She's better now. (She said after finishing the details).
She said it happened to her mother before her mother and said it was caused by acidic foods or something. She says that if you do not scratch, she will continue to grow and could kill you if it is not broke or "something - she won by a doctor who is patient died of him .. I think it could be an ulcer herpetiformis but I'm definitely not sure. Help?
