Have you been accused of lying by a doctor about your sexual history in the making before an HIV test? I was appalled to hear such unprofessional behavior!
If you're comfortable then please indicate your gender, physician's sex, your age at the time of trial, and the approximate age of the physician. (I wonder if this is related to assumptions regarding the age and sex.) Also, if they thought you were exaggerating or underestimating the risk factors.
I noticed gynecologists or physicians "doubt" your response if you indicate that you have been celibate or sexually inactive. Either they think you're lying, then they try to make you feel more comfortable "speaking the truth." Or, they think you have a kind of cultural problem with sex or a virgin. I do not particularly find this offensive. I understand the young women may lie about their sexual past because they are ashamed or embarrassed.
I had men and women physicians.
EDIT:
In addition, they are discouraging to get tested for STDs, unless you have been sexually active and suspect have been exposed. It makes no sense to me because there are STDs that can show years after they acquired. Herpes is one of them. I do not know why they discourage doing the test, when studies show that you have hidden in your body for years.
I took my daughter for her first pelvic exam at age 14, because she was already sexually active. The doctor was a woman in her 60's. Dr. asked my daughter if she had sex recently, in the last week. My daughter insisted she had not. So I asked Dr why she said that. She could say that my daughter had a vaginal infection caused by having sex. Later I discovered that my daughter was raped date but was afraid to tell me. Dr. have a way of knowing what happened there, just watching.
Not me. But my wife BFF, who received a kidney infection she picked up some shmuck on the internet, lied about using condoms with every man she met online and liquidation ucking *. (She "just does not like them" and thought she was not in danger as the men told him they were going well.)
I had a personal problem when I was sixteen that caused my periods to stop for a few months. After convincing my mother that I was still a virgin, and once she had stopped crying, she took me to the doctor. He was in his fifties. He looked at me and said: "If your periods have stopped, you are probably pregnant" when I told him I was a virgin, he looked at me and suspisciously snorted with laughter. I do not exactly look sweet and innocent virgin but I was and I could not believe the doctor would be so rude!
No.
Has been tested (it's the law now in Australia for pregnant women) for all STDs including HIV about four years, while pregnant with my third child.
I give blood and I'm too tested for diseases including HIV every time I make a donation. Last test was about 6 months. Australia is very strict about blood donations.
Am 34 and have had male and female nurses / doctors.
Here, it is useless to lie. Tests show all.
Not for me, but my students of Health organized a day of testing for students and the public health staff have been very disrespectful. We decided to use another type of test this year.
I want to know the reason for your question.
Funny you should ask Diddy GNU. I now feel compelled to attend.
when I was 19 I looked for a HIV test when I discovered that my husband of two years had unprotected sex with other men in a book store for adults. Having once thought prlim. risk assessment with the nurse allowed me to see the doctor. he spoke in a very condescending to me honey Will you expect to Beli.
