Hodgkin's disease? I found a hard lump above my collarbone yesterday.
I read that it could be Hodgkin's disease.
Im panicking.
Do you have experience with this type of cancer?
I had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma seven years earlier. I had a golf ball size lump on my back and could not say that was my wife made me go to the doctor. Then I went to the oncologist. It Took a while to determine if it was cancerous or benign.
Just go to your family doctor. Have him check. It could be nothing or it could be cancer. The worst case, it is cancer but this cancer is 90% + rate of healing.
My cousin had. He is recovering from now.
Go to have adequate control. You can recover if you are still at an early stage.
you did not say if the lump is painful or not. Mostly flat in this region are painless, and found in the neck, armpits or groin. But it is important to remember that most of the lymph node swelling is caused by infection, and not by lymphoma. affected lymph nodes usually return to normal size within weeks or months after the infection has disappeared. If a lymph node (s) is greater than one inch in size (> 1 in), and if there are other suspicious symptoms, a test is a biopsy. best to consult the doctor.
Try not to worry! I had Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1992. It is very curable! I had six months of chemotherapy and four weeks of radiation treatment and have not had cancer problems since! Wow, it's hard to believe that 16 years ago. I am now 51 years old. Take an examination immediately. Sometimes, if you had the flu or an upper respiratory tract infection, lymph nodes will swell. This is not an indication of cancer! I hope this info helps!
Hodgkin's is not the only thing that can cause swollen lymph nodes. Hodgkin's disease can be confirmed by biopsy. Going to the doctor. I am in remission from Hodgkin's, it is very treatable, but since you do not know what you're dealing with, you need to consult a doctor.
