How long can a person live spirit pulmonary fibrosis? What is the life expectancy?
It depends on the severity of PF is that if they have underlying diseases with it. Overall health is also a factor. But they can live a long time treatment.
Jerry Lewis, who is everywhere now CBS has pulmonary fibrosis. I do not know when he was diagnosed but I know he had a problem with steroids (for the treatment of FP) back around 2001. Here is a support group for you to research.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a chronic non-infectious disease that causes mild breathlessness more. Average duration of life after onset of symptoms is 4 to 5 years, but many people affected live much longer. Men and women are equally affected, the disorder usually develops in middle years of life, but it can occur at any age.
The diagnosis can be strongly suspected when certain sounds are typically heard through the stethoscope and some characteristic patterns are visible on chest radiograph and the results tests. However lung function, lung biopsy by bronchoscopy, thoracoscopic surgery or "open "could also be necessary. If there is a history of occupational exposure to asbestos may be a lung cancer coexist.
The treatment may include corticosteroids, but only a small percentage of those affected are helped. Lung transplantation has been used for this disorder.
I hope this information has been of help. God bless and best wishes.
