Learn more about the liver and lung tumors, how many types of cancer, treatment options? My mother just learned she has diabetes type II, 5 or 6 tumors in the liver and 5 or 6 tumors in the lungs. They did a biopsy of the liver on Fri and they do an MRI Monday in his brain and a bone scan and mamogram too. They also want to check her colon. Is it serious? She had cervical cancer 18 years and has undergone surgery to remove it. How many types of cancer and what are the treatment options for his state. Thank you.
What they found your mother is certainly serious, so they want to do all the tests you mention.
There seems to have discovered new cancers each year, so there is no simple answer as to the number of cancers exist. The treatments are surgery, radiation from X-rays, and chemo-therapy. There are also alternative medicine approaches that work occasionally for cases that are not developed.
