Metastatic liver cancer, I sought a medical center that did the most research in this area? I contracted a colon cancer three years ago and was removed by resection. It was followed by chemotherapy using 5-FU oxiplatin ANF. I really keeled, except for neuronal damage in the feet. Now, one point appeared in the upper part of my liver is metastatic colon. A liver surgeon is planning local resection and this will undoubtedly be followed by more chemo. I understand the real risk is to plant other than cancer that can now begin to appear in the liver or other organs and my defense is really weak to fight them. I try to find the research center that deals mostly with colon cancer metastatic to learn as much as possible about new techniques, drugs, or something else. I could go for surgery or at least get a second opinion on the procedure, etc.
u-Stanford Medical Center should get more sales representatives of Genentech and see if they have new ongoing study that is specific for liver cancer.
Check with Sloan Kettering in New York. We took my father there for pancreatic cancer. They are experts on almost all types of cancer.
Stanford, Sloan Kettering and MD Anderson are all very qualified to deal with cancer complicated! Good luck!
Look at the cancer research on these sites. glycoscience.org
and glycoresource.com
MD Anderson in Houston is an ideal of what I heard.
Good luck!
