How do I expect to pay for diabetic supplies? I need test strips Ascensia Contour and lancets Microlet. I'm on a tight budget and I wanted to have an idea before going to the store.
pay more insurance for these items?
If you live in the United States, ask you MD to call a prescription in your pharmacy. You should expect to pay your normal copay for brand name prescriptions for the bands (I paid $ 30), and about $ 10 for lancets (they cost $ 10 ... I do not think anything be paid, including insurance). Without order, a box of 100 test strips cost about $ 100. Expensive, huh??
Good luck to you!
I live in the UK and get all my drugs against diabetes free. But I suppose you do not live in the United Kingdom? Sorry not to go then - the UK lol!
In the United Kingdom, they are free on prescription. You do not know about the U.S., sorry. It is best to check directly with the insurance company. And please, whatever your budget tight, do not miss the test, as it is very important for your health.
Yeah! Insurance will pay most of the costs of tapes, if the meter you choose is the one they love, they will pay for it. Otherwise, they will well by making you pay 50% and an increase in the cost of tapes.
The bands average $ 1 per tape without insurance!
Diabetes is a disease to be very expensive. Sites Mail on television do not disclose that you must be on the SS benefits for free supplies. The convenience of the receipt of supplies every three months in the mail is good, but you must still pay what the insurance company will not cover. Co-pays, etc.
lol it does you
Be careful and do not skimp on supplies. Some cheap meters and supplies may give inaccurate results leading to new tests or medication errors. Read some information on this site:
