Volunteer Africa - to change lives at the orphanage volunteer One area of volunteering in Africa that gets a lot of good coverage and publicity is a volunteer orphanage. Often we see on television and movie stars with a baby in her arms, or sports figure kicking a ball around a field of dirt.
It's one of those moments where all publicity is good publicity. More people are aware of the difficulties faced by orphans in Africa, more help will arrive. Of course, you can not imagine what working with a new two minute clip, then what really happens to an investment orphanage volunteer?
In St. Lucia, South Africa, there are a large number of orphans Zulu who lost parents to HIV and AIDS. Education here is not just about reading and writing - important though that is - it's to the next generation aware of the problems of these deadly diseases, so we hope that their children could suffer the same fate .
Volunteer work is also on the orphanage in maintaining infrastructure. If you are an educator looking for a teaching mission volunteer in Africa, it is possible, but you are just as valuable if you are a builder or decorator. It is difficult to teach, if you do not have a classroom to do!
In Mozambique and Zambia, the need is just as important - indeed, across Africa, which has a children orphanage volunteer project that could use your help. Even the beautiful island of Zanzibar, the proportion of children left parentless by AIDS and HIV. There is nowhere you can go that your help will not be very appreciated.
And despite all the difficulties and poverty, children greet you with smiles and laughter. They are bright and noisy outside the classroom, attentive and eager to learn in it. Working in an orphanage volunteer in Africa is not the kind of thing that will destroy you, far from it. The only thing you could do with the fight are your facial muscles - smiling all the time!
