Ovulation And Pregnancy

Posted on February 11, 2010.
Ovulation And PregnancyHow long after weaning a baby from ovulation hormones that support / normalize pregnancy?

I tried to get pregnant for at least a year and just found out my progesterone levels are low - probably because I am still breastfeeding my son. I had a regular period of more than a year, and all signs of ovulation were present.
I weaned him last week and I'm curious to know how long the levels of hormones can take to normalize. I know everyone is different, so I'm looking for an average here.

Breastfeeding may delay your perod for a maximum of 2 years.
That said my sister got pregnant with her second son a month after she gave birth to the first. She was also breastfeeding.

Not sure. All I can share is that during lactation, ovulation and my periods have been delayed. The longest was 12 months and I got pregnant while still breastfeeding (never had my period between ages 3 and 4).

let me know because I'm in the same boat
