I suffer from sciatica for the past six months and were informed microscopic discectomy surgery by my doctor. Need to know the limits of this surgery and post operative precautions. Any alternative suggestions and proven to relieve pain are welcome. The surgery is safe and proven? I wish I could give you a better answer than what I am abput to give you. But the body of everyone reacts differently. But I had sciatic pain since November. I was thrown PT. All they show you the necessary practice to do to relieve the pain. When this does not work, I went to get the injections. Is it twice. When this does not work the doctor said surgrey. I suffered so much all I wanted was to help if I did. The surgrey contributed to pain in my leg, but not the pain that I had and I'm still having the left buttock. After my return, I still had surgrey 6 weeks 3 times per week of PT. At the end of six weeks, I suffered so much that I could not even get on the table. My last 3 weeks have been a Nitemare. My pain is the day and nite. So for the last 3 weeks with little or no sleep because I'm so evil. I put ice packs, heat, Biofreeze on it without relife. PAI I take for pain. It does nothing for my pain. I got to a point where I do not know where to turn. It was an accident for me and I still feel like I'm being punished. I realize that they could surgrey lot to me, but what that means I'll have to live in this pain well for the rest of my life. Right now I want. I'm so tired of hurtin Nites and white. I honestly do not know how much more that I can take. All I want is to have my life back to normal again if possible. If you surgrey which is of course up to you to decide. But I think you should try everything else before taking this measure. PT or injections. They may be able to help. Surgrey should be the last thing you turn to. But again, if you have the surgrey you could be one of the lucky ones that it helps. I hope you find the answers you seek, and you can return to good health and without pain. Good luck. Remember that you will always be that% of its not working. hey! whoa, before thinking about surgery ... take my advice and try a chiropractor. Stretching the affected muscles. Do not bounce, jerk or twist while stretching. Breathe normally through stretching exercises. Your physiotherapist or doctor can teach you the most beneficial stretches. If you have faith in ayurvedic medicines all take a spoonful of your Aswagandha churn, churn Rasayana and Vanara churn and also consult a ayurvedic practitioner to follow later. some caution must be non-smoking -1 - 2 No lifting more than 100 g - 3 daily walk.
