Tabc CertificationTABC-certified to be certified or not certified

TABC or Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission proposes a standardized certification process for businesses and employees of businesses that serve or sell alcohol. The TABC certification course is not required in the State of Texas, but it is offered to anyone who wants to take it. Many employers require a course even if the state is not only because it allows them to present themselves as a company best-known and credible, which everyone wants, really. Even in situations where you are not required to obtain the certificate, it may be help your career by making you a better candidate for the job to someone without certification.

Choosing whether to get your TABC certification will be entirely up to you. If you own a business, this certificate can give your business more credibility and help you show that you are responsible for your service of alcohol. If you are an employee, it can make you more hirable when it is not already required by the employer. It is entirely for each company to determine if they need it or not, that's why you need to understand the work that you accept when you are an employee in the State of Texas.

Server positions are numerous, but many people are discouraged by the growing number of companies that require TABC certification even if it is not the state mandate. However, the course is pretty easy to fill, easy to find, and very affordable when you take online rather than making in-house training or participating in an actual class somewhere. The question of getting certified is entirely on the person if it is required for employment. The only thing you need to know is that it does give you a better image and make you look more responsible in a way you can prove.

With the growing importance of responsible alcohol service and retail, it will likely only be a matter of time before the TABC certification and other state mandated programs are in place for real and required by law for all those who serve or even companies that sell or serve alcohol. For now, however, it is an optional thing you can do to improve your career or business, and will be completely your decision when it comes to certification or not certification. Make sure you do your research before making your decision, because you need to make an informed choice and not a rash.
